Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru Bahasa Inggris di Kota Bandar Lampung dalam merancang dan mengembangkan bahan ajar lisan berbasis pendekatan Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT). Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan yaitu Communicative Language Teaching yang mana komunikasi adalah sebagai jembatan dalam penyampaian dari pemberi pesan secara langsung yang diajarkan kepada guru. Kegiatan pelatihan meliputi pemberian materi teoritis tentang prinsip-prinsip TBLT perancangan tugas, serta praktik langsung penilaian kerja bahan ajar yang aplikatif. Pelatihan dilakukan kepada 26 Guru tingkat SMA di Kota Bandar Lampung dengan lokasi pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di tempatkan di SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung, Lampung. Hasil pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dengan pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa guru pada tingkat pemahaman peserta terhadap konsep TBLT serta kemampuan dalam menyusun bahan ajar lisan yang inovatif dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran di kelas. Sehingga peran dari TBLT melatih keterampilan berbicara yang lebih otentik dibandingkan metode tradisional. tidak hanya menghafal dialog, tetapi harus bernegosiasi makna, meminta klarifikasi, dan berinteraksi secara alami.
