Abstract

Dalam konteks industri modern, karyawan tidak hanya dituntut untuk memiliki kompetensi hardskill yang kuat, tetapi juga harus menguasai softskill yang esensial. PTPN IV, yang bergerak di bidang produksi CPO, mengakui pentingnya keseimbangan antara kedua jenis keterampilan ini. Meskipun pelatihan yang ada sebelumnya lebih berfokus pada peningkatan hardskill, terdapat kebutuhan mendesak untuk mengembangkan program pelatihan yang juga menekankan pada pengembangan softskill, khususnya bagi operator pesawat uap kelas I jenis boiler.

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi softskill para operator tersebut dalam menjalankan tugas mereka. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Balai Besar Guru Penggerak, Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara, dan diikuti oleh 14 operator pesawat uap kelas I jenis Boiler. Metodologi yang diterapkan mencakup tiga tahap utama: pra pelatihan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, dan pasca pelatihan. Tahap pra pelatihan melibatkan survei lokasi, sementara pelaksanaan pelatihan mencakup pretes dan pelatihan softskill. Tahap pasca pelatihan melibatkan postes dan sesi refleksi.

Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan softskill operator, terutama dalam aspek komunikasi, kreativitas, kepemimpinan, dan pemecahan masalah, dengan peningkatan skor sebesar 50%. Kesimpulannya, bimbingan teknis ini berhasil menghasilkan operator yang memiliki kompetensi softskill yang baik, yang pada gilirannya memberikan manfaat signifikan bagi perusahaan tempat mereka bekerja.
