Abstract

Malaria masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat di wilayah endemis seperti Papua, terutama pada kelompok rentan seperti ibu hamil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis distribusi spesies Plasmodium dan keterkaitannya dengan trimester kehamilan pada kasus malaria ibu hamil di Kota Jayapura. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain observasional deskriptif dengan pendekatan potong lintang (cross-sectional) berdasarkan data sekunder dari rekam medis pemeriksaan malaria pada ibu hamil di Apotek Sakura Jayapura periode Maret–September 2025. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 60 kasus malaria pada ibu hamil, dengan distribusi yang sama antara Plasmodium falciparum dan Plasmodium vivax (masing-masing 50%). Infeksi P. falciparum paling banyak ditemukan pada trimester pertama, sedangkan P. vivax dominan pada trimester kedua. Kasus malaria ditemukan pada seluruh trimester kehamilan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa malaria pada ibu hamil di Kota Jayapura disebabkan oleh lebih dari satu spesies Plasmodium dengan distribusi yang bervariasi berdasarkan trimester kehamilan. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya skrining malaria secara rutin pada setiap kunjungan antenatal care di wilayah endemis.
