Abstract

Fort Amsterdam is a historical tourist destination that has not been fully publicized, a Dutch heritage fort which is located on the border between Hila Country and Kaitetu Country, Central Maluku Regency, about 42 km from the city of Ambon. The location of this fort is right next to the coast of Negeri Hila. The management of Fort Amsterdam is trying to promote Amsterdam Fort tourism through social media. This research aims to find out how social media is used in promoting tourism at Amsterdam Fort and Hila Country. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type, which is a type of research that aims to create systematic, factual and accurate descriptions of the facts and characteristics of certain populations or objects. In this research, it has been described "Use of Social Media in promoting Fort Amsterdam Tourism, Hila Country, Central Maluku. The research results show: A world influenced by globalization has created many new opportunities. Tourism is one of them. The use of social media in promoting the Fort Amsterdam tourist attraction in Hila Country is very effective, because through social media, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter it can attract domestic and international tourists to visit Fort Amsterdam, because some of the world's population are active social media users so messages and information are conveyed quickly, Internet media or social media does have an important role in increasing the number of tourist visits.
