Abstract

The bailiff plays an important role in ensuring that the execution process at the Medan District Court is carried out in accordance with applicable laws. The main duties of the bailiff include delivering summons, notifying decisions, executing seizures, and vacating disputed objects based on court orders. This process aims to ensure that legally binding decisions can be implemented effectively and fairly. However, in practice, bailiffs often face various obstacles, such as a lack of readiness from security personnel, suboptimal coordination among related parties, disturbances from third parties, and attempts to obstruct execution even when a final decision has been made. These obstacles often slow down the execution process and require good coordination between the court, security personnel, and the execution applicants to ensure its success. This research employs a normative-empirical method through interviews with court clerks and direct field observations, supported by legal sources and other references. The findings indicate that the role of the bailiff as the executor of the execution not only requires a deep understanding of procedural law but also professionalism, integrity, and good coordination to ensure that the execution process runs smoothly and effectively.
